The Netflix series “Mindhunter” gave us a glimpse of what a mind of a serial killer is like. Serial killers along with rapists, murderers and also pedophiles are all forms of psychopaths, and are often the only kind to be portrayed in the media. But believe it or not, these are not the only psychopaths out there. You will be surprised to know how present they are in our daily lives. Please note that some of the habits we will be mentioning can be seen in all of us. However, they become psychopathic in nature when present in overwhelming amounts.
1. The Narcissist
We all indulge in self-loving from time to time. But Narcissists are those who fail to see the world beyond themselves. They love themselves so much that over time they pay little or no attention to the feelings and emotions of others. They constantly crave attention and often act out violently if they don’t receive any. Another kind of narcissism is cerebral narcissism. These narcissists love their own mind and their ideas so much that they tend to look down on yours, act superior, speak condescendingly, and demand recognition.
2. The Victim
We dare you to tell us that you’ve never come across someone like this in your life. The particular kind of psychopaths will always try to get sympathy of people, even if it entails fabricating situations that never happened. They also tend to shift the blame on other people to get out of uncomfortable situations. They often act weak, be it physically or mentally, so that they can convince other people that they are the “victim” of circumstances.
3. The Liar
These are the type of psychopaths who would not give a second thought before lying to get their way. They will say the most convenient thing that comes up to their mind and they would not blink an eye before making a false promise. The concept of truth seems to be completely lost on them. The thing that makes them particularly dangerous is the fact that they have no remorse at all.
4. The Manipulator
The most toxic and most commonly present person in our lives, the manipulators want everything to go the way they want it to go. They are generally very likeable and charming human beings and are a pro at persuading others. They make you feel wanted and appreciated (for personal gains of course) and acquire your trust to the point where you start adhering to whatever they say. What makes them scary is the fact that they are willing to go any length to ensure that YOUR life goes the way THEY want it to.
