Bangladesh Media Innovation Awards 2022 Recognises Twenty Top Media Performers

Bangladesh Media Innovation Awards 2022, the first of its kind, recognised the top performers in the country’s media industry. 

On September 27, 2022, Daraz Bangladesh held the Bangladesh Media Innovation Awards 2022 ceremony. The aim of the event was to recognise the achievements and innovative ideas of the media sector of Bangladesh in today’s digital age, including innovative practices toward digital transformation, content marketing and news distribution. Brand Practitioners Bangladesh was the event outreach partner, SBK Foundation was the strategic partner, Reboot was the event planner and Dimadin was the ideation partner. 

The guest of honour at the event was MA Mannan, MP, Minister, Ministry of Planning, and the special guest was Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury, MP, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Education. Syed Mostahidal Hoq, Managing Director,  Daraz Bangladesh, AHM Hasinul Quddus, Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Daraz Bangladesh, and other high-profile officials, guests and media personnel were also present.

Twenty awards were presented to different media organisations. The winners were:

  • Best Digital Diversification Project: Chorki
  • Best Co-branded online project: The Daily Jugantor
  • Most innovative digital report: Somoy TV
  • Best TV Programme for Women: DBC News
  • Best TV Programme (Kids): Duronto TV
  • Best TV Programme (Entertainment): Jamuna TV 
  • Best TV Programme (Lifestyle) category: ATN Bangla
  • Best TV Programme (Sports): Ekattor Media Ltd.
  • Best Country Branding Programme: Independent TV
  • Special Recognition: Bangladesh Television (BTV), Channel I, Ittefaq, and The Daily Star

ICE Media has won two awards, one for Best Business Magazine (ICE Business Times) and the other for Best Lifestyle Magazine (ICE Today). This recognition further underscores ICE Media’s dominance in this niche category. For two decades, ICE Media has been continuously working to illustrate and innovate Bangladesh’s fashion, lifestyle and business sectors while maintaining global editorial standards. 

The Chief Guest MA Mannan, MP, Minister, Ministry of Planning said, “Bangladesh is going through a transformation, and Daraz is playing an instrumental role in this journey and has immense potential to accelerate the country toward a smart transformation by taking various steps in the coming days.
