December is an ideal month to travel, won’t you agree? The weather is generally nice, semester is out, there are sales everywhere and airlines usually have special offers. So it comes as no surprise that people go on small trips during this time. But we all have that one friend who can be, well, annoying about their trips. Starting from drowning our social media with their holiday photos to acting like the first person ever to go abroad, here are 5 things your annoying friend who just came back from a holiday will most likely do:
Fill your news feed with their photos
It’s perfectly fine to take photos of your holiday and even upload a few on social media, we all do it. But like most things, this too has its limit, after a point people will just grow tired of your photos. Your friend however, does not get the gist and will upload just about anything from photos of their boarding passes to selfies they took by mistake to even screenshots of the weather app.
Bore you to death with their tales
Unlike the photos, you actually have to sit through this one. There is no escaping. You’ll have to listen to every grueling detail of their trip be it what they had for breakfast to what they bought from seven eleven each day.
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse
Use the hashtag/caption “Take me back”
It hasn’t even been a week since they returned home and they have already started using “take me back” on their photos. Tsk tsk.
Tell you how nothing in Dhaka is “authentic”
It is almost impossible to hang out with them for the next couple of weeks without them telling you how we don’t get real Chinese, Italian and Mexican cuisine here and how most of the branded things we buy are mere replicas. We get it, you went to bidesh.
Act like an honorary citizen of the country they came back from
The complaining will stretch beyond just materialistic things, they’ll talk about how there was no humidity or pollution and how organised everything there was and how they had no traffic etc. Although to be fair the traffic is pretty horrible here. They’ll also probably adapt to a fake accent or something.
