Reporters from Entertainment Weekly received an anonymous email on Sunday announcing the hack which goes like this…
“Hi to all mankind,” the email reads. “The greatest leak of cyber space era is happening. What’s its name? Oh I forget to tell. Its HBO and Game of Thrones……!!!!!! You are lucky to be the first pioneers to witness and download the leak. Enjoy it & spread the words. Whoever spreads well, we will have an interview with him. HBO is falling.
According to reports, unidentified hackers have supposedly taken 1.5 terabytes of data from the pay-cable channel and have already posted upcoming episodes of Ballers and Room 104 online.
HBO is already investigating the incident and working closely with law enforcement agencies and cyber security firms to get to the bottom of this. While hackers are having a field day by grabbing content from HBO including a script from Game of Thrones fourth season, HBO is fighting hard to ensure that the episodes are not released on torrent sites before being aired on the network. After the debacle in 2015, where the show’s first four episodes of GOT season 5 were leaked onto free websites, the network has stopped sending episodes to press and industry insiders prior to their airing.
But guys, you can relax as GOT is still not available online..
