Bangladesh’s Art Scene Shines Bright at Platforms’ Debut

 

Platforms, a groundbreaking platform dedicated to celebrating and promoting the vibrant art scene of Bangladesh, officially launched on September 25th. Founded by Rayana Hossain, Platforms rapidly garnered attention for its commitment to fostering creativity and innovation in the realm of art.

The inaugural event, held on October 13, 2023, at Aloki, 211 Gulshan Tejgaon Link Road, was a one-of-a-kind celebration. This grand occasion featured a captivating exhibition showcasing the diverse and vibrant artistic expressions that flourish within Bangladesh. Complementing the art display, an instrumental musical program provided the backdrop to the event, bringing the creations of our talented artists to life through the magic of music. Apart from this, stars from different  fields participated in the exhibition.

Rayana Hossain, the visionary founder of Platforms, expressed her excitement, stating, “Platforms is a labor of love, dedicated to the art community of Bangladesh. The launch of Platforms signified a new era for the art scene in Bangladesh. We are dedicated to providing a platform for artists to thrive and share their talent with the world. Our inaugural event was a true reflection of the artistic richness that defines our culture.”

At least 25 artists’ artworks, including renowned painter Zainul Abedin, have been placed on the website. Platforms authorities expect it to continue to grow. The event also featured a showcase of emerging talents, including Sumon Wahed, Sulekha Chowdhury, and Soma Surovi Jannat. These artists collectively embodied the spirit of creativity and innovation that Platforms aims to foster, enriching the tapestry of Bangladesh’s art scene.
