Wander Woman, a Bangladeshi travel startup for women, celebrated their five year anniversary event titled ‘Wander Woman’s Five n’ Thrive event powered by Daraz’ on the 17th of September, 2022 at Amari Dhaka.
Wander Woman started its journey as a female based travel community five years ago. The community of women travellers helped each other find important information and travel partners, and also arranged group tours. Now, it is a femtech startup that has helped over 10,000 travellers go to more than 10 countries.
On its fifth anniversary, Wander Woman held an event at Amari Dhaka. The anniversary event had more than 100 guests.Notable guest speakers included Mehruba Reza, VP, Head TARA, Women Banking segment and AGAMI, student baking segment, BRAC Bank, Tawhida Shiropa, CEO, Moner Bondhu, and Sayma Rahman, SR Ventures & Consultancy.
The event was powered by Daraz Bangladesh. The baking partner was BRAC Bank TARA, decor partner was Kri Events, photography partner was CheckMate, and magazine partner was ICE Today. Customised gift boxes were given to all the attendees. There were a variety of gifts from the sponsors and gift partners Monno Ceramics, Ahmed Foods, Praava Health, ShareTrip, Kumudinir Beson, Intuit Healing Cards, Katalia Shampoo, Pinky Promise by Nity, Lilac Wellness Center, Stritch Bangla, Vaseline Archariyana, Vera Ink and Cakewala. The cake for the event was sponsored by The Red Window.
There was a raffle draw at the event, where the top three prizes were air tickets to Thailand and Cox’s Bazar sponsored by Saimon Holidays and one night stay at Eco Sense Resort sponsored by Avijatrik. There were also five business pitch call sessions from up and coming women led businesses and educational institutions such as Versatile Events, Lilac Wellness Center, The Write technique and Coventry University.
All the brands and businesses that were part of the event were all either founded, led, or managed by women. As Wander Woman reaches its fifth year, while it will still continue to organise trips for women, it will also branch out into hosting events catering to professional networking for women, providing entrepreneurial advice, etc.
