Since its first appearance in Wuhan, China the coronavirus has wreaked havoc throughout the world. The hardest hit from the pandemic has been the poor and economically disadvantaged people across the world. As the lockdown prolongs, the poor population in Bangladesh who relies mostly on the informal sector is looking down the abyss of poverty and starvation.
Fortunately, numerous people are coming forward and making generous contributions to help people who are confined in their homes without any income. Quazi Sirajul Islam, Managing Director, Amin Jewellers Ltd. He is also the Former Member of Parliament from Faridpur-1 and member of the Advisory Council of Awami League has been donating essential food items across his constituency. The initiative is completely self-financed by Kazi Aminul Islam and Quazi Sirajul Islam. Kazi Aminul Islam is the Executive Director of Amin Jewellers Ltd and Vice President of Bangladesh Jewellers Association.
More than 5,000 families in the area received food, hygiene and other essential items.
Amin Jewellers Ltd will continue to stand beside those in need in the coming days. They are also urging others to join hands in helping the most vulnerable segment of our society in these trying times.
