To Marital Bliss

Planning a wedding can be challenging, especially if you are stretched for time. The logistics of a Bangladeshi wedding is convoluted; if not appropriately planned, the entire ceremony can turn out to be very costly.

To assist you with planning and execution, VIOLET Inc. and Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View are joining hands together again.

For the 4th time in a row, they are organizing The Grand Wedding Expo, the perfect event for you, from 18th to 19th October, in Mezbaan Hall, at Raddison Blu Chittagong Bay View. To make a dream wedding come to reality, everything that a wedding ceremony requires can be found under one roof. Patrons will be able to learn insights from renowned consultants on wedding planning, menu selection, venue options, photography, videography, wedding makeovers and many other wedding facilities exclusively at the event. From wedding ensemble to jewelry, the exhibition will offer something for everyone as foreign and local designers and brands exhibit their artistry.

Who are the target audience/consumers for The Grand Wedding Expo?
Rohan: The Grand Wedding Expo is going to be held for the fourth time at Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View on 18 & 19 October 2019. The Wedding Expo is a unique experience for the couples and all the people related to a wedding. Our target audiences are people who are soon to be married or planning to do so soon. Our next target segment is the people who want to lend their helping hands to arrange a wedding ceremony.
Sohel: We are organizing this event for the fourth time, but the target audience has always been the same. However, we are also targeting women who want to explore lifestyle shops regardless of their marital status.

Will the participants (fashion designers, event planners, wedding photographers, and make-up & beauty brands) offer any exclusive discounts/packages for the expo?
Sohel: Some of the renowned brands of Bangladeshi Wedding Industry will be present during the exhibition. Designers will showcase their recently made gorgeous wedding dresses and sell them at a reduced price. Also, the photographers, event management and other related services will offer their best packages.
Rohan: This year we are expecting to carry forward the success we had last year and introduce new fashion brands, increase more variations in the products at the exhibition, and what I understand from the Sales Team of Radisson Blu Chattogram Bay View, they are coming with some exciting wedding packages that the future brides and the grooms won’t want to miss! They will offer wedding packages for different segments, including the best rate for accommodation.

How does this expo help aspiring professionals in the wedding industry?
Rohan: This is the best platform for event management companies and other wedding facility providers to meet with their potential clients. It is the largest wedding show by the numbers of participants and also the size of the show.
Sohel: Our show has already been proven to be very popular among the wedding decorators. We can name a few of the wedding planners who are successful through showcasing their wedding stages in the wedding expo — for example, one of the most popular wedding decors in Chattogram is Ms. Tanzila Kashfi.

THE GRAND WEDDING EXPO IS GOING TO BE HELD FOR THE FOURTH TIME AT RADISSON BLU CHATTOGRAM BAY VIEW ON 18 & 19 OCTOBER 2019. THE WEDDING EXPO IS A UNIQUE EXPERIENCE FOR THE COUPLES AND ALL THE PEOPLE RELATED TO A WEDDING.

What can we expect from the Gala Night and fashion event this year? Will there be a bonus attraction?
Rohan: We always hold a signature Gala event at the Wedding Expo. This year we are planning to arrange it in the center wedding stage itself to exhibit the wedding collections of different designers and production houses participating in the expo.
Sohel: We will also promote the best selfie competition and a raffle draw for the audience. Also, there will be a musical show which will encourage Bengali culture during weddings.

How would you evaluate the evolution of this industry in Bangladesh and its role in generating employment?
Sohel: The amount of money spent on a wedding nowadays makes it possible to call the wedding arrangements a separate industry. The economic contribution of organizing wedding events is enormous. People nowadays want specialized firms to handle a particular side of a wedding. It opens a vast avenue for the wedding business firms. From matchmakers to wedding photography, all are reaping the benefits for the specialized demands.
Rohan: It creates more job opportunities in Bangladesh. The firms need skilled employees; also suppliers of a wedding event are growing, thus generating employment.
