The world-famous cosmetic brand, The Body Shop has finally set foot in Bangladesh. The British based brand has been identified as the ethical cosmetic brand as they revolutionized the cosmetic industry by ushering in an era that saw animal testing getting banned. Their brand-new outlet on the first floor of Jamuna Future Park made Bangladesh 70th global partner.
The Body Shop’s heritage dates back to 1976 when it was founded by Anita Roddick in Brighton, England.
Their goal is to create a positive difference in the world through their high-quality, naturally inspired products. They have a diverse range of product starting from skincare to body care to hair care and even makeup, all of which have been produced ethically and sustainably. The Body Shop is truly a powerhouse in the global cosmetics scene and their 3,000 retail location across 70 countries is a testament to that.
Their venture in Dhaka is a partnership with Quest Holdings Bangladesh Ltd. as they seek to continue generating positive economic, social and environmental impact. The opening ceremony of The Body Shop Bangladesh was hosted at Le Meridien Dhaka and introduced the guests to their core values upon which Anita Roddick founded the company. The grand opening at Jamuna Future Park took place on the 12th of October and was graced by the likes of Kanbar Hossein-Bor, Acting British High Commissioner of Bangladesh, Russell De Chernatony, Franchise Account Manager of The Body Shop (South Asia), and Shriti Malhotra, the Managing Director of The Body Shop Bangladesh. The event was also made more successful through the presence of some of the country’s hottest and most emerging lifestyle bloggers.
“Bangladesh is The Body Shop’s 70th global market and we are very excited about this launch. The Body Shop continues to derive inspiration from our founder Anita Roddick’s belief that business can be a force for good. It brings us pleasure to be able to extend her legacy to Bangladesh”, stated De Chernatony. While Annie Chan, the General Manager of Franchise for The Body Shop believes that their partner Quest Retail would be able to use their retail expertise to deliver The Body Shop’s products to customers in an exciting and dynamic way.
