JCI Dhaka West broke the stigma by organizing a workshop on Menstrual Health for International Women’s Day

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, JCI Dhaka West conducted a workshop on Menstrual Health JCI Dhaka West in partnership with Wreetu which discussed health, hygiene and taboos attached to puberty and period at Kalatia in Keraniganj for female students. The documentation partner for the event was The Gallery; the half day workshop was very interactive and through various performances carried on educating the female young students on how to take proper care of themselves during menstruation.

The main focus of the workshop was to ensure helping adolescent girls to have a healthy and hygienic menstrual health. The local Chairman, Taher Ali praised JCI Dhaka West for taking such an initiative in a rural area such as Kalatia. He promised to continue his support in future as well. The Global JCI Vice President, Rochelle Borton Everill and their President Mehedi Hossain were in the workshop and students performed a playlet for them on how they will help each other during menstruation. National Vice President Erfan Haque and National Project Committee Chair Shahedul Azam were also present at the event.
