Doctor Who announced their first ever female doctor in the history of the show. It was announced last week that Jodie Whittaker was set to take on the role of the 13th Doctor, a feat which has never been achieved by any other woman in the history of the show.
A skeptical response is what is to be expected from such groundbreaking news but to our surprise, with a few exception of course, most fans have a very positive reaction towards Jodie.
A former Doctor Who actor, Peter Davison said: “If I feel any doubts, it’s the loss of a role model for boys who I think Doctor Who is vitally important for.” He, however, defines Jodie as a terrific actress who is undoubtedly fit for the role.
Some people didn’t hesitate for a second to express their skepticism and has called this an attempt from BBC to assert political correctness and deviate away from source material as none of the doctors is a woman. Although she received mixed reviews, the general consensus is in favour of Jodie so she has nothing to worry about. We wish her all the best!
