A fashion statement and a winter staple, a beanie allows you to style your hair in more ways than; one of which is a fishtail braid. To make the fishtail braid standout, take two strands starting from where you part your hair. After you have braided 6 inches below your ears, tie it with a transparent elastic band. Taking a small strand of hair, wrap around the elastic and tuck the end in. Continue with your fishtail and do the same when you have reached the desired length. Tie with elastic, leaving the desired length of hair loose and wrap a strand of hair around the elastic like you did previously.

An easy yet fancy way of styling a turban is to play with the bangs/ fringes. Wrap all the hair in a slightly lifted bun leaving out the front bangs. Then take four strands of hair and braid them. You can find easy tutorials on YouTube for four-strand braids. Tie up the end and pin it on the side with bobby pins. Once you are done with the braid, pull out the outer corners of each layer ever-so-slightly to add some volume.

The bun in scarf combo makes for an elegant style for a night out in town. Take a little section of your fringe and clip it away from the rest of the hair. Section a thick amount of hair starting from where your hair parts up till and along your crown. Clip it away from whatever hair is hanging loose. Take the spare hair, comb tightly and make a ponytail close to your ear. Now, twist the ponytail around and secure the ends with bobby pins. Taking the thick amount of hair, start doing a Dutch braid till you have no hair to braid; tie the ends. Pull the outer layers to give it some volume. When you have reached the bun, twist the Dutch braid and secure with bobby pins in a pattern that look like a rose. Finally, curl the bottom part of your bangs to give it a feather-like illusion.

Flirtatious and fun, this makeup look was created from a palette of purple hues. To achieve this look for New Year’s, apply an electric purple shadow and blend the crease area with a warm brown shadow. Taking a shimmery white shadow, highlight the brow bones. Smudge the lower lash lines with pink shadow. Apply a thick layer of eyeliner and mascara. Contour the hollows of your cheeks and apply a peachy blush. Finally, paint the lips pink. Since the eyes are already loud and shimmery, go easy with the highlights.

For this look, the cheeks should be contoured lightly. Add a light pink blush and wear the same colour lipstick for the eyes should be the focus of the night. A teal coloured eye shadow is applied on the lids. The shadow is then blended across the crease area with a dark brown shade. To add glamour to the look, put teal coloured glitter in the centre of the eyelids.
