Luxury menswear rarely stands still, constantly negotiating between tradition and reinvention. However, every so often, a collaboration emerges that feels less like a marketing moment and more like a cultural milestone. This month, Zurhem’s latest move does just that, underscoring the Bangladeshi label’s growing influence in the global tailoring conversation.

The label recently commanded attention during a prominent tour of Australia, dressing global star Ahad Raza Mir. The Pakistani actor and singer, known as much for his magnetic screen presence as for his measured approach to style, Mir turned to the Dhaka label for key appearances tied to the Shaukat Khanum Memorial Trust’s fundraising efforts.

The effect was subtle but commanding, positioning Bangladeshi design at the forefront of the international style discourse.

In preparation for the Australian appearances, Creative Director Mehruz Munir developed two custom looks that spoke fluently in Zurhem’s language – clean lines, disciplined minimalism, and exacting structure.

The first ensemble was a dark brown superfine wool two-piece suit. In a world often dominated by standard blacks and greys, the choice of deep chocolate brown felt fresh and sophisticated. Styled simply with a black T-shirt, the look stripped away the stiffness of traditional formalwear, offering an effortless contemporary finish that suited the warm, approachable nature of a charity tour.

The second look leaned into classic menswear tropes but with a modern twist. Mir appeared in a navy blue pinstriped superwool suit. While the pinstripe often carries connotations of corporate boardrooms, Zurhem’s execution – defined by clean lines and a slim, modern silhouette – transformed it into a statement of confidence. Again, paired with a black T-shirt, the outfit bridged the gap between old-world sartorial elegance and the relaxed needs of a modern global star.

The looks were the product of deliberate styling, shaped by celebrity stylist and Sunday Times Pakistan Editorial Content Director Ozan Khan. Recognised for his precision, Khan chose Zurhem for its distinct tailoring vocabulary.

In luxury, more is often mistaken for better. Zurhem, however, takes the opposite route, operating on the principle of restraint. With an emphasis on cut, cloth, and construction – rather than overt branding – an approach especially fitting for the Shaukat Khanum events, where tone and tact mattered as much as appearance.

The significance lies not in the fame attached, but in what it represents. Under Mehruz Munir’s direction, Zurhem is helping reposition Bangladesh from a centre of mass production to a destination for considered luxury.

Anchored in time-honoured techniques yet sharpened by a modern sensibility, Zurhem proves that considered design travels well. Its tailoring feels as assured in Dhaka as it does under Melbourne’s chandeliers.

As Ahad Raza Mir continues his journey as a global ambassador for South Asian talent, Zurhem stands beside him, proving that the future of luxury fashion is diverse, sophisticated, and impeccably tailored.
