A Fresh Look at the Seven-Seater SUV
The all-new Mitsubishi Destinator is a premium seven-seater SUV designed for families who want a mix of comfort, style, and real-world capability. Instead of using flashy designs, it focuses on smart engineering and a luxury feel that works for daily life.
The exterior of the Destinator is bold and strong. It uses Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield front design, which looks polished but stays assertive. One of its most premium features is the rear pillar design, a detail usually found on high-end luxury vehicles that makes the SUV look more prestigious.
The Destinator is highly practical for various road conditions, boasting a best-in-class ground clearance of 214mm that allows it to navigate speed breakers and flooded streets with ease. This elevated stance provides the driver with better visibility and a sense of assurance. Furthermore, the vehicle includes integrated roof rails, large alloy wheels, and a hands-free power tailgate to ensure extra convenience for busy daily routines.
Inside, the Destinator feels like a luxury lounge rather than a standard car. A large panoramic glass sunroof lets in plenty of natural light and can be controlled directly through the touchscreen.
To keep everyone comfortable, the car includes a dual-zone climate control system with advanced air purification and vents for all three rows, ensuring airflow reaches even the very back of the cabin. The premium leather seats use heat-guard technology, which prevents heat buildup after the vehicle is parked in the sun. For entertainment, Yamaha engineers tuned the cabin as a bespoke acoustic space to deliver a high-quality, immersive sound experience. Modern technology is also central to the interior, with a dashboard featuring a digital driver cluster, a smartphone-link display, and a unique multimeter that pays tribute to the classic Mitsubishi Pajero.
The Destinator is powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine. This engine uses a water-cooled system to make acceleration feel smooth and responsive. It is paired with a CVT transmission that works well for both city traffic and motorways.
For better handling, Mitsubishi added Active Yaw Control, a technology from the Lancer Evolution X that helps the car stay stable during turns or on slippery roads. Drivers can also switch between different modes for wet roads, gravel, mud, or tarmac.
Safety is a top priority, with the Destinator earning a five-star ANCAP rating. It features a reinforced body, 6 SRS airbag system, and a surround-view camera to help with parking in tight spaces.
By combining Mitsubishi’s history of tough SUVs with modern luxury, the Destinator offers a comfortable and confident ride for the whole family.
