The bti Stellar Women Initiative, a collaboration between bti and The Daily Star, is an empowerment award programme that recognises and celebrates the achievements of young, talented women in Bangladesh who are trailblazers in their respective fields. Inaugurated in 2023, it honours women who have made significant contributions to society and nation-building. Having returned for its second season in September this year, the bti Stellar Women Initiative continues to inspire and encourage women across the country, acknowledging their remarkable accomplishments and contributing to positive change.
Over the past few decades, Bangladesh has made significant strides in promoting women’s career advancement. However, more can still be done to recognise and celebrate the accomplishments of women. Empowering them is an ongoing journey, not a final destination, requiring continuous efforts to support and uplift their achievements. For the second season, the bti Stellar Women Initiative has expanded its reach by reorganising and broadening its categories, now encompassing a more diverse array of industries.
With 12 different categories, the bti Stellar Women Initiative Season 2 aims to recognise the remarkable accomplishments of women who are shaping the future of Bangladesh. The programme is being conducted throughout the year.
The award categories include art and culture professionals, sportswomen, banking and financial institute professionals, residential and commercial architects, engineers from various disciplines such as construction, structure, water resource, and MEP, marketing professionals, interior and landscaping architects, environmental workers, writers, entrepreneurs, healthcare professionals, and agricultural professionals. The bti Stellar Women Initiative plays a vital role in promoting gender equality and empowering women across Bangladesh. By participating, women contribute to a larger movement that seeks to challenge societal norms, break gender stereotypes, and create a more inclusive and equitable society.
