SAMSUNG ONE UI 4: A CUSTOMISED GALAXY

On November 15, 2021 Samsung announced the official launch of their new user interface, One UI 4 for the Galaxy S21 series, which include the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra. The latest upgrade to Samsung’s UI comes with customisation and privacy features eliciting a more seamless experience across the Samsung ecosystem.


Speaking more ot the features of One UI 4, Janghyun Yoon, the Executive Vice President and Head of Software Platform Team at Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics said, “We are committed to giving everyone access to the best mobile experiences possible, as soon as possible. One UI 4 delivers on that promise, equipping Galaxy smartphone users with the latest customization and privacy features. But we won’t stop there. Soon, other smartphone and tablet users will also be able to benefit from this software update, enabling a more seamless experience across our entire ecosystem.”
The One UI 4 upgrade provides customization features so that you can have ‘Your Galaxy, Your Way’. A new colour palette offers an additional range of colours giving you more options to personalise your home screen, icons, menu, buttons, and background. Alternatively, artificial intelligence (AI) built into One UI 4 can pick the colours for you to create an intuitive theme. Widgets have also been given deeper customization features in One UI 4, including the ability to personalize them with a colour of your choice.
The upgrade also brings new features to the Samsung Keyboard. Equipped with emoji, GIFs, and stickers, and a Writing Assistant powered by Grammarly, you can now find more freedom to effortlessly express yourself.

 

THE NEW PRIVACY AND SECURITY FEATURES PRESENT A COMPACT OVERVIEW OF THE KEY PRIVACY AND SECURITY CONCERNS. IT ALLOWS YOU TO CHOOSE WHAT YOU SHARE AND WHAT YOU KEEP PRIVATE.

One UI 4 introduces a more responsive camera and enhanced media editing features. Video capturing is now instantaneous the moment you press the ‘Record’ button, which is substantially faster than previous versions, where recording happened only after the button was released. Photo Remastering lets you enhance captured images while still preserving all your image data, and the Object Eraser lets you remove unwanted elements from your images using AI. The Highlight Reel feature creates a dynamic video clip from your favourite photos and video with a background music chosen by the AI.
Privacy and protection is one of the key aspects in this UI update. The new privacy and security features present a compact overview of the key privacy and security concerns. It allows you to choose what you share and what you keep private. The system notifies you if a certain app asks for access to your phone’s camera, microphone, or location. You reserve the control over which permissions you give to the app.

 

The One UI 4 is designed to get the most out of Samsung’s extended ecosystem and third-party apps. Samsung’s partnership with industry-leaders, like Google, ensures a seamless experience when using apps like Google Duo, which provides high-quality video calls with friends and family. Regardless of which Samsung device you own, the Galaxy Z Series, Galaxy Watch, or Galaxy Tab, you will get a consistent and uniform look and feel across all your devices and will be able to seamlessly sync them.
