Mohammad and Sons, the premier destination for exclusive watch brands in the country, has released an exclusive watch to commemorate the 50th independence anniversary of Bangladesh.
his year, Bangladesh is celebrating the golden jubilee of its independence. Over the past five decades, we have disproved the cynics and established ourselves as a model for development. Bangladesh is now one of the fastest-growing economies globally, and the future looks even more promising.
To celebrate this glorious occasion, Mohammad and Sons, the premier destination for exclusive watch brands in the country, has come up with something unprecedented. They have launched the first ever ‘commemorative country edition timepiece’ in Bangladesh.
Mohammad and Sons, the country’s first ever luxury Swiss watch boutique, started their journey with a dream of bringing a new dimension to aesthetics and experience of accessorising. With an ambition to set a new benchmark in the luxury watch market, it brought in a quality collection of watch brands through authorised dealerships.
Mohammad and Sons are affiliated with luxury brands like Zenith, Tag Heuer, Montblanc, Frederique Constant, Movado, and Oris. Besides, Its watch collections include Alpina, Aviator, Nordgreen and Zeppelin which have set trends in recent years.
In 2021, Mohammad and Sons took a pioneering step in the industry by deciding to launch the first ever commemorative timepiece in honour of Bangladesh’s 50th anniversary of independence. But the task was not easy. The aesthetics of the watch had to parallel the essence of our accomplishment as a country. It had to represent pride, beauty and the grandeur of the occasion and in that spirit only fifty pieces of the watch have been manufactured.
It was Frederique Constant, one of the most prominent Swiss luxury watch brands who collaborated with Mohammad and Sons and offered their World Timer series as the watch this collaboration. The brand exceeded expectations in implementing the vision for the series. Not to mention, it provided ample suggestions to bring out the perfect outcome. Undoubtedly, the collaboration of Frederique Constant and Mohammad and Sons has ensured a top-notch design.
The design of the World Timer Bangladesh is iconic itself as it reflects the country’s vigour and pride. Keeping the crux of Bangladesh’s flag in mind, the watch’s colour scheme is composed of lively green and hopeful red.
The 42 mm watch case consists of a green dial. There’s a prominent red-coloured half circle in the upper half of the day/night time. Through the sapphire case back, the in-house movement FC-718 comes into focus. Impressively, the movement comes with a 38-hour power reserve, 26 jewels, a skeletonized rotor, Geneva stripes, and perlage.
The label “BD. Ltd. Ed. No. XX/50” is imprinted on the watch case. Making the design more specific to the occasion gets a final touch with the label “50th Anniversary” at the bottom.
World Timer Bangladesh is priced at 480,000 BDT, and all the pieces of the first edition of the watch are already sold out. However, you can still get your hands on them as Mohammad and Sons is planning to release another line of special edition watches. The World Timer Bangladesh is a reminder of how far we have come forward as a nation. It will remain as an embodiment of the growth and prosperity of our country for years
to come.
