Do you know which district those sweets you love so much originally came from? Use our ‘sweet map’ to find out!
If you grew up in Bangladesh, you are surely aware of our nation’s love affair with sweets. This glorification of sweets is evident in how we express happiness and joy. Be it a wedding, graduation, promotion, the birth of a child, a religious holiday or occasion, for hundreds of years Bengalis have used sweets as a symbol of celebration. Making sweets is a form of art – it is a craft that is passed down from generation to generation.
As a result, certain sweets have become an integral part of our culture. As such, most of the districts of Bangladesh have individual sweets which have become their specialty over the years.
By bringing sweets of all these different districts across Bangladesh under one roof, Banglar Mishti (a concern of Sweets of Bengal) is dedicated to promote and support this wonderful tradition that dates back to over 200 years.
