The authentic Victorian look consists of flushed cheeks, pale skin and brightened eyes. Our makeup regime reflects a look Queen Victoria would have donned before taking her portrait. You can see in various portraits that she was made to look very fair but not excessively white, had a little flush of colour in the cheeks and very neat well-groomed hair. It is a move away from a heavy use of makeup towards subtle elegance.
Therefore, each of the looks focuses on stark, flawless makeup, rosy cheeks, and big dark eyes. The eyebrows and eyelashes were made to look healthy and glossy. The two looks have contrasting lip colours, one being natural and the other being rosy red. The looks reflect the essence of Victorian feminism. Keeping in line with the theme, the hair was styled in a manner that exudes elegance and purity.
