Mowgli’s story continues a few years from where The Jungle Book left off. But the melody of joy we have been humming to for the past few years seems to have faded into the abyss. There’s an air of darkness overshadowing the naïve fairytale of Mowgli’s adventures. Our beloved friend’s universe has been dragged down to reality as the odds seem to be stacked against him.
By the looks of the first trailer, it has been made very evident that the movie has adapted the dark storytelling of Rudyard Kipling’s 19th century classic.
Mowgli is seen to be caged by humans as he tries to claw and fight his way to freedom. He is seen to be stuck in no man’s land, over taken by an identity crisis as he seeks to find his true roots.
Mowgli seems to fall under the shadows of the critically acclaimed The Jungle Book, begging the viewers to ask for a reason to watch its retelling. But the star studded trailer leaves you so invested into the movie that you might find yourself standing first in line at the box office on the day of release.
Only time will tell what dark tale awaits us on the other side as we anticipate the release of the thriller of a movie, Mowgli in the 19th of October, 2018.
