5 life lessons to learn from Narcos

The Netflix TV show, Narcos is almost everyone’s favorite because it showcases the drug cartels like never before. But if you think it’s just the DEA chasing the drug lords, then you must pay closer attention to the plots. You’ll find many lessons to take and here are 5 to help you start with:

Money is never the answer

Even though Pablo was the bad guy here, it was sad to see him lose his family and home for money. There was a scene where Pablo burned a stack of cash to keep his daughter warm. Most think he could do that only because he was making so much money. But did you ever think that may be that was the moment he realized that money was nothing compared to his daughter’s wellbeing?

Insignificant actions can lead to big consequences

Pablo Escobar was foolish enough to go to the DAS office to take care of matters himself when he got arrested. And that’s when his mug shot was taken. He brushed it off but later it caused way more damage than anyone would have expected. And we can’t forget how Miguel Rodriguez sent off their security head to run a personal errand for only a few hours and ended up having his elder brother arrested in those few hours.

There are no winners in war, only losers

The writers did not forget to hint this quote in the show when Bill Stechnar tells Agent Pena that they’ve lost the war. Even though the DEA managed to catch Pablo and kill him, it couldn’t be ignored how many people had died for the cause.

Even your loyalist can betray you but family is forever

Initially Pablo was seen to have a loyal team but as the show proceeded, even his best men gave away valuable information about Pablo. But his family remained by his side till the end. This was again proven by the Rodriguez brothers in season 3.

Play the Saint as much as you want, but you can never make everyone like you

No matter how nice you play or how much you build or donate for the public, at the end of the day it only takes a second for people to change their opinions about you. Pablo was loved when he became a politician but soon enough people turned on him when his mug shot was released. Even Gilberto Rodriguez was loved until he decided to surrender peacefully.

Isn’t it wonderful when a show is as entertaining as it is enlightening?
