Beyonce’s wax figure screams racism and the fans are going haywire about it

After the unfortunate blunder with Cristiano Ronaldo’s bust, another issue that raised a storm on the internet was the Madame Tussauds’ wax figure of the goddess of music Beyoncé. Having witnessed many other substandard wax figures of Beyoncé around multiple cities, people had hoped Madame Tussauds would not disappoint. After all, they claim to take accurate measurements of the celebrity being depicted. Yet, when a photo of the statue was posted online, people went berserk. Let’s take a look at the gaffe.

Hold Up! Britney, is that you?

People on twitter were confused whether the statue looked anything like Beyoncé. The sculptor failed to represent her beautiful, dark, honey skin tone or even her perfectly chiselled face. Some people questioned if the sculptor had ever seen Beyoncé. The ‘whitewashed’ figure looked more like Britney Spears, Lindsey Lohan and Mariah Carey than Beyoncé. And the light blonde hair didn’t help much, either.

The statue was removed on Thursday for ‘style and lighting changes’ as claimed by Madame Tussauds. But the company did not go into details about the adjustments that were made to the wax figure. The outcome was nothing significant either.

Sorry, I Ain’t Sorry

Although the Beyoncé wax figure was brought back the next day, it seemed like the skin tone was altered to a bronzer shade. However, the company kept claiming that only the lighting was changed. Well, judge for yourself.
