Irfan Aziz and Rubab Nayeem Khan maps out six ideal Eid hangout spots
The last week of Ramadan always happens to be our favourite as we start planning out our rituals for Eid; while some choose to snooze throughout the day, others don their best outfits to ensure that the three days of Eid are nothing but festive. But if big crowds and social gatherings aren’t your thing, you can always sit down some place quiet and have a nice meal with family and friends. Luckily for you, there’s a restaurant at pretty much every corner of Dhaka city. Here are a few places that you can visit for a spectacular Eid.
Ramna Park

One of the oldest hangout spots, Ramna Park is indeed a refreshing place to be. Trade in your whatsapp messages for actual conversations, your crème caramel for some pitha and your spotify playlist for some good old baul music. Embrace your heritage! The place is always buzzing with culture and life.
Charukola
If you really want to live it up during Eid, this is your place to be. The students of Charukola know a thing or two about celebration. Colours as far as the eye can see; the whole place is decorated, starting from the entrance to the exit. Bursting with art and culture, Charukola is what one can call a feel-good place.
Kiyoshi
With peaceful settings straight out of a Japanese film, Kiyoshi’s dishes are as pleasing as its premises. The place has garnered just the right kind of attention for its top notch Japanese dishes, particularly its sushi and sashimi. In case you want to avoid the polao-korma ordeal, this is the place to be.
Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban
If there’s something that gets our Bengali blood rushing, it’s our eternal love for street food. At Sangsad Bhaban, you can indulge in some chotpoti and fuchka. The place is always filled with so much life; its grandeur and glory is symbolised through alponas across the entire road.
Bistro E
Sliders, steaks and more; Bistro E’s got everything that puts the ‘f’ in feasts. Whether it’s a table for two or an entire family, the place exudes the kind of ambience that’ll have you coming back for more. If you want to steer clear from the mainstream Eid celebrations, make your reservations at Bistro E.
Holey Artisan Bakery, Gourmet Bazar
Whoever said you can’t brunch on Eid has never been to Holey. Bringing in an array of all things fresh, Holey Artisan makes for a perfect place to get brunch with a few close friends. Muted coloured walls and the company of very few people is what makes Holey a spot for chilling out if you don’t have much planned out for Eid.
