Father’s day has rolled around yet again and you have been caught unaware yet again. For these tricky situations we have come with solutions which will help present you as the poster child while not burning a hole in your wallet.
Here are five movies to watch with your father on his special day:
Father of the bride (1991)
This father-daughter classic stars Steve Martin and has always been a particular favorite of mine. The movie is when martin finds out his daughter is getting married to a guy she met in college and then hilarity ensues. If you’re truly impressed by this one, this movie has a sequel, Father of the Bride: Part 2 (1995).
The Lion King (1994)
If you fancy yourself to be too much of grown up for Disney movies, then its time we break up for good. This jungle-set Hamlet adaptation will have you crying, singing and cheering all at the same time.
Pursuit of Happiness (2006)
Now beware, this movie is a tearjerker. It follows the life of Chris Gardner (Will Smith) and his young son (Jaden Smith) as they are evicted from their apartment and their journey from there onwards. But this movie also talks about hope and courage and will always have a special place in my heart.
Wake Up Sid (2009)
This movie aptly portrays the fractious relationship between a father and son. This movie might be the only Hindi movie in the list but it has a lot of heart. Please give this a shot!
The Descendants (2011)
This movie stars two of my favorite actors: George Clooney and Shailene Woodley. When Clooney’s wife dies in a tragic incident his life is further turned upside down by the secrets that starts unearthing themselves one by one.
