Ever wondered why shopkeepers wrap sanitary napkins in a brown packet? Well, for most of us, it is rather baffling to see something as natural as a woman’s period being kept under wraps (pun intended).
As we celebrate Menstrual Hygiene Day, this video attempts to further break the silence and taboo around menstruation.
Getting your period does not suddenly mean you are handicapped. While it does affect us physically and emotionally, period doesn’t limit us in anyway and it most certainly doesn’t signify weakness. What truly matters is how we stop stigmatizing something so natural.
This shows the value that proper sex education and awareness can bring about. When done properly, even the boys can understand and become accepting of period as something completely normal.
Know that menstruation happens for a purpose. It is a complex but natural mechanism of the female body and there is absolutely nothing to be shameful of but rather take pride in.
This is the only bloodshed which brings no violence. So if you are feeling disgusted, well that’s your prerogative.
Period isn’t a barrier between your goals. Go out there and achieve what you want and never let “that time of the month” bring you down.
