‘Lumiere – An Experience from Grameenphone Presents Dhaka Flow Food and Wellness Festival’ took place at Gulshan Club from 31 May to 1 June, 2024. The two-day festival was a remarkable celebration of holistic well-being, bringing attendees together for an enriching experience.

“At Grameenphone, we strongly believe in supporting causes that uplift the health and wellness of our communities,” said Farha Naz Zaman, Head of Marketing at Grameenphone. “This partnership with Dhaka Flow is not just about celebrating health and well-being. We are fostering a community of like-minded individuals committed to holistic living. Together, we aim to inspire and support a healthier connected community, which can contribute to society’s overall progress.”

The festival featured a diverse range of activities, including ‘Flow Within: Journaling,’ ‘Canvas Therapy: Art & Music,’ ‘Introduction to Yoga,’  ‘Yoga For Kids,’ ‘Folk Beats: Dance,’  and a panel discussion on ‘Deep Dive into Healthy Gut.’ Attendees were treated to an unforgettable concert by Blues Brothers & Soul Sister on the first day.

On 31 May, the inaugural day of the event, attendees were treated to an inspirational conversation between Dhaka Flow Founder and CEO, Shazia Omar, and Chief Guest Kazi Nabil Ahmed – a Bangladesh Awami League politician, Member of Parliament, VP of the Bangladesh Football Federation, and Director of Gemcon Group.

On the second day, participants engaged in a variety of sessions, including meditation with Omar, a mental health workshop led by Dr Helal Uddin Ahmed, yoga for seniors, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and self-defense classes, a functional fitness boot camp, and a soothing sound meditation session with Swayambhu.

“The need for our community to come together for a healthier Dhaka has never been more critical. Collective efforts in promoting health and wellness initiatives can lead to transformative changes. By working together, we can create a supportive environment that encourages healthy living and improves the quality of life for everyone in our city,” said Ahmed.

Omar added, “Mental and spiritual health are as crucial as physical health, and they require our attention and care. Practices like yoga and mindfulness can significantly improve our mental and spiritual well-being, reducing stress and anxiety. It’s essential to integrate these practices into our daily lives to foster a more balanced and peaceful community.”
