In a spectacular display of empowerment and adventure, Wander Woman, the trailblazing travel platform dedicated for designing adventures for women, achieved a milestone with the resounding success of their flagship event, ‘Escapade Reloaded’. Held at the picturesque Mati-ta, South Asia’s largest activity camp, on November 24 and 25, it marked the fifth season of the highly anticipated event by Wander Woman.
Supported by Prime Bank Neera and in association with Mati-ta, the e event garnered immense support from the Tourism Board of Bangladesh and the Tourist Police, ensuring both excitement and security. Due to the ongoing political situation in the country, the support from the Tourism Board gave a boost to the confidence of the participants. Partnerships with Ice Today, Radio Shadhin 92.4 FM, Savoy, Bruvana, Grameen Danone, Checkmate Events, Costumiere by Zubaida, and Saimon Holidays added to the grandeur of the occasion.
All 100 participants, along with the Wander Woman team, started their journey to Chattogram on Thursday night. This was a huge step for Wander Woman as it was the first time they took so many women on a trip at once.
The two-day extravaganza unfolded with participants arriving early to Mati-ta, greeted by a delicious breakfast. The participants were then guided to their rooms and tents to take rest before they were divided into groups. Amidst the comfortable confines of tents and rooms, the adventure kicked off with Mati-ta’s meticulously coordinated activities, offering a perfect blend of thrill and safety. Divided into 4 teams, led by charismatic leaders, participants engaged enthusiastically in activities such as ziplining, human foosball, tree topping, quick step, and archery. The Mati-ta ensured that all the activities with maximum safety and the performance metrics were monitored by the Wander Woman team. A delightful lunch served as a brief respite before diving into the next round of exhilarating activities.
The presence of Shaila Abedin, Head of Affluent Banking and Women Banking at Prime Bank, as the chief guest added a touch of grace to the event. Ms Abedin delivered an inspiring speech on empowerment, highlighting the collaborative efforts between Neera and Wander Woman in providing enhanced opportunities for women in Bangladesh. Munal Mahmood, CEO, and founder of Mati-ta, played a pivotal role in ensuring the event’s success, introducing unique activities for participants.
THE BEST THING WAS THAT EVEN THOUGH AT NIGHT THE PARTICIPANTS WERE TIRED, THE SERENE ATMOSPHERE AND THE PICTURESQUE BEAUTY OF MATI-TA ENLIVENED THEIR SPIRITS, AND THEY PERSISTED IN ENJOYING EACH OTHER’S COMPANY WITH UNABATED ENTHUSIASM.
During the evening, everyone was treated to snacks and a lively game of pillow passing on the sprawling lawn, setting the stage for an electrifying DJ night. Participants danced the night away with fervour, followed by a heartwarming dinner accompanied by soulful songs and stories. The best thing was that even though at night the participants were tired, the serene atmosphere and the picturesque beauty of Mati-ta enlivened their spirits, and they persisted in enjoying each other’s company with unabated enthusiasm.
The next day started off with a much needed meditation session for all the participants, followed by an invigorating hiking expedition around the resort. The day ended with a closing ceremony where Sabira Mehrin Saba, CEO of Wander Woman, expressed gratitude to the participants for making Escapade Reloaded a resounding success. Ms Saba extended her best wishes to all and reinforced Wander Woman’s commitment to organising more events that empower and inspire women. At the very end, the participants with maximum participation and the team leaders who showed great leadership during activities were shown appreciation by being presented with gifts from Costumiere by Zubaida.
Wander Woman’s dedication to creating opportunities for women to explore their potential, fostering camaraderie, and unlocking new realms of adventure and empowerment was palpable throughout ‘Escapade Reloaded’. The event’s triumph serves as a testament to the organisation’s commitment to providing unique and enriching experiences for women in Bangladesh. Through meticulously planned trips like these, Wander Woman consistently creates opportunities for women to not only explore their potential but also to connect with like-minded individuals, fostering bonds that extend beyond the realms of adventure, ultimately embodying the true spirit of empowerment.
