In the realm of artistic wonders, where vibrant hues dance in harmony with eloquent tales, comic books emerge as enchanted portals to the imagination. Within their ink-stained pages lies a beguiling fusion of art and narrative, beckoning readers to embark on a journey through modern aesthetics that beautifully portray a nation’s culture and spirit. Throughout the last decade, Dhaka Comics has been the enchanting realm of artistic wonders, where colours converge with narratives, and comic books have woven a mesmerising tapestry that transcends time and borders.

It was born out of the vision to tell captivating tales that mirrored the nation’s identity in a modern aesthetic. The founder of the publishing house, Mehedi Haque, an esteemed name in cartoonist circles, yearned to create comic books that celebrated Bangladesh’s unique preferences and culture. Despite encountering doubt and hesitation from numerous publishers who viewed comic book as an ‘expensive’ and ‘uncertain’ venture, Mehedi’s passion prevailed. Perhaps the encouragement of his mentor Ahsan Habib, the editor of Unmad magazine, pushed him to take the leap of faith and founded Dhaka Comics in January 2013. Thus, the journey of Dhaka Comics began, kindling a fire of passion that embraced the nation’s heritage and contemporary flair.
