Dhaka Classics: A New Musical Foundation Launches to Promote Western Classical, Jazz, and Traditional Bengali Classical Music from Home and Abroad

Dhaka Classics, a new musical foundation, announced today its official launch to promote Western classical, jazz, and traditional Bengali music from home and abroad. The foundation is a non-profit organization that aims to create a platform for local and international musicians to showcase their talents and provide music lovers in Bangladesh with quality performances.

Dhaka Classics is committed to providing a platform for musicians to showcase their talent in Western classical, jazz and Bangla music. The foundation is passionate about preserving and promoting these musical genres and creating opportunities for musicians to develop and hone their craft.

The Meet the Press event featured a presentation on the foundation’s history and goals, as well as musical performances by the found, Kelley Taylor, and visiting guest artist, Neil Mukherjee.  The event also included a Q&A session for attendees to ask questions and learn more about the foundation’s initiatives. Diplomats, ex-pats, government and high corporate officials, socialites, celebrities, influencers and media graced the event.

Dhaka Classics welcomes donations, sponsorships, and contributions from individuals and organizations who share their passion for music and their commitment to promoting and preserving these important musical genres. All contributions will go towards supporting the foundation’s various initiatives and programs.

“We are excited to share our vision for Dhaka Classics with the press and the public,” said the media spokesperson Ms. Sanjana who works as the foundation’s communications and public image chair. “We believe that Western classical, jazz and Bangla music are important cultural treasures that should be celebrated and preserved. We look forward to working with individuals and organizations who share our passion and commitment to promoting these musical genres.” Says the music director Ms. Taylor.

With a mission to preserve and promote the rich cultural heritage of Bangladesh, the foundation will organize recitals, masterclasses and educational opportunities for aspiring musicians and students to learn from the experts and develop their skills. Dhaka Classics has an impressive line-up of events planned for the coming months.
