Wander Woman’s annual flagship event Escapade 4.0 allowed a glimpse of the thrilling adventures about to happen over the coming months
Wander Woman is a travelling platform founded by Sabira Mehrin Saba who formed this platform when she saw many young women like herself face roadblocks while travelling. The main objective is to empower and inspire Bangladeshi women through travel while building a supportive community of like-minded individuals which now exceeds over 60,000 females as members.
Wander Woman hosted its annual flagship event Escapade 4.0 on November 25th. The venue partner BaseCamp arranged activities such as archery, zip-lining and other fun team-building activities. The team shared how the participants can win more gifts through an online contest by sharing social media stories and posts using the #WWEscapade2022 hashtag. The most lucrative prize was a free round air ticket to Nepal sponsored by TopTrip for the participant who shared the best review of her experience on the trip. Not only that, three lucky raffle draw winners received a free night stay from Wander Woman’s hospitality partner, The Grand Hill Taj Resort.
The participants also received goodies from the event’s gift sponsors, Kumarika and Nestle, nutrition partner Grameen Danone – Shokti, and goody bags from Stygen. The radio partner Radio Carnival, media partner ICE Today, and photography partner Illusion Weddings supported and covered the successful event.
Along with exploring the wonders of Bangladesh and beyond, they are now concentrating on less conventional international destinations like Kerala, Jordan and Uzbekistan. Every week there are more than a hundred travellers who join the adventures not only to explore the globe but also to form lifelong friendships among their travel mates.
They have recently launched a travel loan facility to further increase accessibility to travel, in collaboration with IPDC Priti. Wander Woman is also promoting tourism leadership among young girls through WanderLeads, a bootcamp for upcoming trip leaders and Wander Stars, a business case competition held across top universities of Bangladesh.
The organisation is raising pre-seed investment from venture capital and Angel investors in Bangladesh and globally. They received a grant from Chemonics International, Inc. a private international development firm based in Washington, D.C. when they won UNLEASH Plus awards earlier in February 2022. Wander Woman is honoured to have received recognition from several prestigious platforms such as being the finalists in Joy Bangla Youth Award 2022 and International Women Entrepreneur Summit 2022 to name a few. They are currently on the lookout for substantial investment and partnerships to expand the business and sustain their demand based growth.
