ENCOURAGING ENTREPRENEURSHIP

WITH THE TAGLINE ‘WHERE SME MEETS THE BUSINESS INDUSTRIALISTS,’ BUSINESS EXPO AND EID HAUL BY GLAMSHOW POWERED BY DARAZ WAS AN EXHIBITION TO ENCOURAGE BUDDING ENTREPRENEURS.

With Bangladesh becoming a middle-income country, demand for consumer products is rapidly increasing, and people demand good quality products. Consequently, the number of entrepreneurs is rising, and, at present, thousands of online and small businesses are in the country. In an attempt to encourage entrepreneurs and allow them to showcase their ideas and meet business industrialists, event management firm Glamshgow hosted the ‘Business Expo & Eid Haul’ fair.
Held on the 1st and 2nd of July 2022 at the Renaissance Dhaka Gulshan Hotel, the event was sponsored by Daraz and had several co-sponsors, including Pulse Tech, Meher, Pe Safe Bangladesh, Mehfil, SF Trading Corporation, Ego Vision and Yusera with JCI Dhaka Uptown. Chairman of Asian Television, inaugurated the event and shared his words of wisdom and advice with the entrepreneurs. Public figures Jessia Islam and Ridy Sheikh were also present at the event.
The stalls included a new clothing brand, EMPRESS – Be Magnificent, by Raisa Naser Khan; the brand was launched at the event with Jessia Isam as brand ambassador. The event was also graced by different organisations working to

make the world a better place for the underprivileged. They included Pee Safe Bangladesh, a brand dedicated to providing unique hygiene products such as a roll-on that provides relief against menstrual cramps, and Project Komal, which, with the help of The Help Project and Junior Chamber International Dhaka Uptown, distributes sanitary pads to underprivileged and transgender women, and conducts female hygiene workshops.
An additional attraction was a raffle draw supported by US-Bangla Airlines, Crimson Cup Bangladesh and Ginza, where the first prize was two tickets from Dhaka to the Maldives. Other prizes included air tickets to Cox’s Bazar and dinner vouchers. According to the founder of Glamshow, Raisa Naser Khan, Glamshow will continue to host innovative events that will help society and small and medium businesses. Glamshow plans to execute international events in the near future as well.
