SUPER 6s!

FLYERS SPORTS HAS A VISION TO CREATE A PLATFORM FOR SCOUTING YOUNG ASPIRING ATHLETES.

Flyers Sports was born out of the passion and love of sports that a group of friends shared. Incepted in the post pandemic lockdown era, at the end of 2020, the founders of the company realised that the country’s sports initiative is seriously lagging when it comes to scouting and developing local youth players at multiple levels. Exposure was the key note issue. Without systems in place, talents with great potential in both men’s and women’s categories in multiple sports go unnoticed. This is where Flyers Sports comes in.
Their first tournament in 2020 was featured in Ekattor TV, T Sports, Amar Sangbad and many more. It also had the presence of influential individuals as the guests of honour such as Kazi Nabil Ahmed MP (Vice President, Bangladesh Football Federation), Nahim Razzaq MP (Member, Youth & Sports Parliamentary Committee), Korvi Rakhshand (Founder, Jaago Foundation), and more.

The idea behind this directive is based on a tried and tested model as seen in Brazil, England, Japan, China, USA and various other countries, where it has been proven that the youth can flourish if given the right stage and direction. Flyers Sports’ directive is to host large and lucrative events for the youth that will provide a lens through which aspiring athletes can showcase their talents and get the recognition they deserve.
The NCAA of the USA and Neymar Jr. 5’s Global Futsal Tournament are prime examples of such platforms. Through the power of an online content driven strategy and a boots-on-the-ground directive, Flyers Sports/Events believes a platform can be created to launch the youth to their full potential.

For 2022, Flyers Sports has a special year planned. A series of events will be created around the calendar year that will be key in motivating its stakeholders and creating confidence in the system. This year the organisers at Flyers Sports are extremely fortunate to have been able to partner up with SMC Group and East Coast Group – both strong advocates of sports and the culture it entails. The partnership has given them the support and guidance as they all share and believe in the vision to have an athletic logistics mechanism in place for future growth and development. The organisers also expressed that they are lucky to have been able to partner up with a few other notable entities such as Ice Today (magazine partner), Business Insider (online media partner), Radio Aamar (radio partner) and Ekattor TV (TV partner). The partnerships have given Flyers Sports the means required to fulfil the dreams of every young boy or girl who aims to be an athlete.
Flyers Sports held the Super 6’s Futsal Tournament on March 18th and 19th, 2022, at Chef’s Table Courtside. Rahbar Khan, National Football Player, Nahim Razzak, MP (Shariatpur – 3), convener of Climate Parliament and Faraaz Karim Chowdhury, Political Scientist, social worker and businessman were special guests at the event. The tournament was a competitive one – 22 teams participated in the men’s category, competing in a round robin format, and 3 teams participated in the women’s category competing in a league style with 2 teams progressing to the final. The champions of the men’s category were Rainbow Green, with Yellow Army as the runners up. Goal Diggers won the women’s category, with Naim’s Angels coming in as the runners up.
Flyers Sports is the brainchild of Ashiq Zaman, Rakin Ahmed, Zarif Ahmad and Nashed Haider. Growing up, they would play various sports, be it in reality or virtually. Flyers was the name of the team that the founders grew up playing in starting from school. It was only fitting to pay homage to that name as the founders move forward trying to develop a more effective system and infrastructure to help young athletes. They had a dream that one day they would be pro athletes, but why that dream turned out to not be true, they may never know as such a platform that tests young aspiring athletes’ capabilities are not yet in place. This is what their organisation wants to rectify. Flyers Sports hopes to create a system through which young athletes can showcase their skills and be given the chance to make it to the big leagues.
