Please tell us about your passion for styling and how that led to the creation of HairBar.
When I was still a kid, my mom would take me to the salon with her. The busy environment, the smell of hairspray and the loud hair dryers would excite me! I would run around looking at all the pretty women getting dolled up and the ladies working there would always let me put on 10 different shades of nail polish. It would make me so happy! Fast forward to when I was in high school, I would experiment with my own hair and makeup. I dreamed of going to a hairdressing school and somehow landed myself in one of the most prestigious hairdressing academies in the world, TONI & GUY Sydney International School of Hairdressing in Australia. After 2 years of rigorous hands-on training, my career took off. Today, I have almost 10 years of experience in the hairdressing and salon management industry and 3 outlets of HairBar, my full-service hair and beauty salon, in Mohakhali, North Gulshan and Dhanmondi.
What can you share about the team at HairBar and its dedication to providing an amazing customer experience?
Initially, we started off with only hair services, as that is my forte. With time, my team of stylists have grown and we now boast of having some of the most talented and hardworking women in our salons providing hair, makeup, skin, nails and various other services with utmost sincerity and dedication. Customer satisfaction is our only priority when it comes to our clientele.

What are some services offered by HairBar? Which ones are client favourites?
HairBar is best known for its haircuts and hair colours. We take a lot of pride in knowing that our clients trust us with their hair and have gathered a loyal following. Our manicures, pedicures and new facials are the most popular and have quite a cult following.
Customers in the beauty industry are often wary about the kind of products that are used in styling processes. What kind of products are used at HairBar?
We are truly proud to have introduced the trend of using and selling the best available professional tools and chemical products at HairBar. We started selling professional home care shampoos and various styling products in 2013. We were the first salon in Bangladesh to introduce hair products like ammonia-free hair colour, Keratin Complex and Olaplex which have revolutionised the hair industry around the world. We have always stayed ahead of the curve and continue to do so. We are the first and probably the only salon in Bangladesh to have completely taken rebonding off our menu in 2017 as its negative effects on the hair are widely known. When it comes to the quality of products, we never cut corners.
People often struggle to visualise a hairstyle that suits them best and choose to stick to a ‘safe’ haircut. How do you give your clients the confidence to explore a new, and perhaps, better look?
I lay it all out and explain the pros and cons of each hairstyle or chemical service. It is important to educate my clients and assist them to make informed decisions. But it’s also crucial to stay open to new ideas and keep it stylish, yet fun. As I always say, “It’s only hair, it will always grow back!” No hairstyle is permanent so it’s nice when my clients trust me to style them in classic looks or explore new trends!
