Wander Woman, a Bangladeshi founded internationally recognised travel startup, held its first-ever Ramadan Carnival at Doreen Hotels and Resorts on 22nd April Friday.
Wander Woman, a female-based travel community turned startup dedicated to travel enthusiasts, partnered with Daraz to host their networking event – Daraz presents Ramadan Carnival by Wander Woman. The purpose of the event was to share the impact Wander Woman is making by breaking stereotypes around the country and bringing all the travellers under one roof. Wander Woman kicked off a fundraising opportunity in the spirit of the month of Ramadan to help the female artisans in rural areas of Bangladesh. A portion will be donated to Protibha foundation which aims to provide sustainable income-earning opportunities for underprivileged women.
The Brunch Club is a frequently practised networking event that’s hosted by Wander Woman every month. This community event brings women from different walks of life who share the same fascination towards travelling and receive previews on upcoming events and announcements from Wander Woman. Community members connect with each other over brunch however as it was not possible in April due to Ramadan, the event was revamped as Ramadan Carnival and organised by keeping the spirit of Brunch Club in mind where Daraz sponsored the event.
The event was attended by 75 Bangladeshi women from Wander Woman community including notable guest speakers from their respective professional fields. As a token of appreciation and invitation, Vera Ink provided customised gift boxes to Sayma Rahman, Esrat Eve, Nusrat Amin, Anusha Chowdhury, and many more.
The attendees received a wide range of gifts from the sponsors and partners and could shop handmade items from Painted Tee at the venue. A fabulous raffle draw was hosted at the end of the event where multiple people won attractive gift hampers. The grand prize consisted of a free night’s stay at Grace Cox which was the event’s hospitality partner.
Daraz presents Ramadan Carnival event decor was managed by Kri Events, the photography partner was Dream Weavers, the media partner was The Business Standard along with ICE Today as the magazine partner. LABAID was the healthcare partner and Radio Shadhin was the radio partner.
