To enjoy Mexican food in Dhaka, a food festival has been launched named ‘A Week in Mexico’ on Sunday evening at Six Seasons Hotel, Dhaka. A much needed small get away from the chaos and regular city-life!
The weeklong festival, starting from Sunday, will go on at Sky Pool Restaurant of Six Seasons Hotel, an exclusive boutique hotel, in Gulshan-2 of Dhaka.
With Mexican music, few Salsa dance performances took place once the inauguration was done by The General Manager of Six Seasons Hotel, Mr. Md. Al-Amin.
Each person can have the food on the table with BDT 3,999, from 6 to 11 pm in the evening.
Besides, there is a ‘buy one, get one free’ offer against selected credit cards issued by BRAC Bank, City Bank, Eastern Bank Limited, Midland Bank Ltd, Mutual Trust Bank Limited, NCC Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, and United Commercial Bank Ltd. A handful of people, including Brazil’s Ambassador to Bangladesh H.E. Mr. Joao Tabajara de Oliveira Junior, was present at the inaugural ceremony and tasted the food and expressed his happiness to try Mexican food for the first time in Dhaka.
General Manager Mr. Md. Al-Amin of the hotel said, “We usually try to do something interesting every month. Our aim is to promote some specific cuisine. This month we thought about doing something exotic and exclusive, and a little bit different.
“From that thought, we highlighted the Mexican food and we have tried our level best to come up with authentic Mexican cuisine because we found in a study that there is a huge popularity of the Mexican cuisine in Dhaka.”
Asked, if all the dishes are available, he said, “We have all the authentic popular Mexican dishes, and we are calling this ‘service buffet’, it’s not a regular buffet. You can order and everything one by one would be served on your table to make sure the safety and hygiene measures are maintained properly.”
About the response from the customers, Mr. AL-Amin said, “We are getting a lot of response, especially [from a few] specific banks are our partners. We have a specific client base. They always look forward to us so we come up with something new!
Rafael Esteves, a Brazilian youthful boy, is staying in Dhaka for the last few months, but for the first time, he got the chance to have Mexican food.
“The food is very good, it has the exact taste [of Mexican food]. I feel myself so special having this food. It makes me feel that I was in Mexico,” he happily said.
