End of an Era as Karl Lagerfeld breathes his last

Iconic fashion designer, Karl Lagerfeld passed away on Tuesday afternoon after a battle with age-related illness. Chanel’s artistic director and an influential brand, in his own right, Lagerfeld began his career as an assistant to Pierre Balmain in 1955 and has been at Chanel for the last 36 years. Dark suits, white, ponytailed hair and tinted glasses was his signature style in his later years, alongside a witty and carefully crafted persona. Lagerfeld lived to the age of 85 and missed him last Chanel show in Paris in January due to his health.
