In Dhaka’s ever changing food scene, restaurants try to outdo each other by introducing something new and innovative all the time. Amaya Food Gallery at Amari Dhaka has done precisely that by introducing their brand new interactive buffet that changed not only how people perceive buffets but also the food scene in general.
Comprised of five stations: Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Thai and Italian, each sections have specialised Chefs who prepare meals right in front of the guests!
A completely new concept especially when it comes to buffet.
Speaking to Jed Archdeacon, Executive Chef, we got to know more about the inspiration behind this in-genius idea. “Basically at any given buffet, all the items are 90% pre-cooked. With our buffet, we wanted to tone it down to 50-50 or even lower. We wanted to introduce a live kitchen element to our customers. I mean prawn that was cooked 2 minutes ago would taste much better than precooked prawns that was prepared 2 hours ago. We wanted to focus on quality, not volume”, explains Jed.
Amari Dhaka wanted to introduce a high level luxury products which no other restaurants are offering.
All of their chefs specialise in each of their designated sections and are trained accordingly. “We try to have fun and interact with our guests as much as possible. I mean pasta being cooked right in front of you from scratch, where else can you see that?”, elaborated Jed. Everything sounds so intriguing that we just had to go there and see it for ourselves.
Amari’s Interactive Dinner buffet starts from BDT 4000 net with BOGO on certain cards.
