July 21st 2018: The stages were set in Ballroom 3 of The Westin Dhaka for us to get a glimpse of what tomorrow holds for the fashion industry of Bangladesh. “Future of Fashion” was an event jointly hosted by ICE Today and Novastudio. It was graced by some of the biggest names of the fashion industry be it designers like Sharukh Amin of Amlira, fashion photographers like Rafiqul Islam Raf or models like Azra Mahmood, Meghla Mukta, Nibir Adnan Nahid, Azim Uddula and so on. In addition to that individuals like Sharmin lucky (popular TV presenter), Aftab Khurshid (CMO, Bengal Group of Industry) and Nazmul Karim (SVP & Head of Branding of The City Bank Ltd.), made the event a more auspicious one. Tawhidur Rashid, managing editor of ICE Today began proceedings with a presentation that highlighted ICE Today’s amazing journey of fifteen years and how it not only adapts to latest trends but also sets new trends themselves. The presentation was also supported by videos from Farzana Shakil, one of the nation’s most decorated beauty expert and also Azra Mahmood. They spoke about the emergence of new makeup artists and models respectively. In addition to that Tawhidur Rashid highlighted the importance of digital marketing and social media and how ICE Today plans to collaborate with Novastudio and utilise digital media to continue being the pioneers of fashion and lifestyle. ICE Today’s presentation was followed by a presentation by Novastudio. Representatives Ivan Korsum and Nikol Buiakova gave guests a better idea of Novastudio and the kind of work they
do and also how Bangladesh’s booming fashion industry was the reason they decided to work here. Their speeches were followed up by another from Melsida Petrosyan, the country director of Novastudio. Melsida expressed her appreciation for the warm hearted and talented people of Bangladesh and how she plans on grooming world class photographers, makeup artists and models to take Bangladesh’s fashion industry to the next level. For this purpose, Novastudio and ICE Today will be hosting workshops conducted by internationally acclaimed individuals from the global fashion industry to give newcomers and emerging talents a chance to showcase their work to the world. The presentations concluded with an interactive Q&A session after which guests were treated to refreshments and live music.
