Jed Archdeacon joins Amari Dhaka as Executive Chef

Famed Chef Jed Archdeacon now has taken the role of Executive Chef at Amari Dhaka, working under the guidance of General Manager Kelly Lewis. A tremendous excitement surrounds his joining as he promises to introduce a modern contemporary line of dishes many of which are a first here in Bangladesh.

Chef Jed Archdeacon, an Australian native born in Perth, Western Australia, started his career in the arts at an early age. At the age of 15 Jed had decided that he would not continue his career in music and followed his passion of becoming a chef which he also had form an early age.

He started work in a French Fine Dining Bistro and throughout his training worked at four of the top restaurants and luxury hotels in Perth. Following that Jed joined Chef Cheong Liew’s kitchen at his Globe restaurant at Hilton Perth, Cheong was rated one of the top 10 chefs by US Food and Wine Magazine and his flagship “The Grange” restaurant in Adelaide was rated number one in the world. Cheong quickly requested Jed to transfer to his Flagship Grange restaurant in Adelaide. After 2 years and winning many numerous awards Jed decided Australia was too small and set his sights for bigger things overseas.

His first position was with COMO hotels in the Maldives and Bhutan, from there he quickly moved to his first Executive Chef position with Six Senses Hotels and Resorts for their Flagship Destination Spa in Phuket Thailand specializing in spa cuisine and wellness diets, form there he moved to Ritz Carlton also in Thailand for the companies first Reserve property.

Since then Jed has worked throughout Maldives / China / Doha for various luxury brands and his last role was in Bangladesh for Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden.

Jed’s work in Bangladesh has been very well received by the public and luxury dinners alike, his modern style of fine dining using top products (some have never been imported into Bangladesh before) and his interactive buffets with modern presentation and element of freshness live stations and personalized product. He has been described by some industry people as helping to change the culinary and 5 star hotel scene in Bangladesh by bringing new knowledge styles and passion to teach junior chefs.

Jed recently starred as Judge Chef for the Popular NTV program “Rupchanda Super Chef” where Jed received very positive public reviews for his professionalism and also being approachable and down to earth with the contestants.
