An archway strung with bejewelled lanterns brought a festive glow to Seasonal Tastes, the buffet restaurant at The Westin Dhaka. Delightful aromas wafted across the dining hall, marking the beginning of The Turkish Food Festival , Turkish Flavours.
Over cups of rich dark Turkish coffee, the press conference for the Turkish Food Festival began at the Silver Room. Speaking at the conference was His Excellency Devrim Öztürk, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey in Dhaka, who extended his appreciation for the festival.
After the ribbon cutting ceremony, a much anticipated food tasting commenced. A small spread of Turkish delicacies was designed by Chef Yalcin Oguz Aydin and Ercan Egi, who flew in from Istanbul Marriott Hotel Sisili Turkey.
From hummus to baklava, the buffet hosted an eye-catching line up of Turkish dishes – aromatic chicken stew, skewered grilled fish, and beautifully scented cinnamon rice graced the tasting menu. Other traditional Turkish treats like mini kofte, traditional kuzu sis, pancarli haydari made the spread.
With the promise of bringing an authentic international dining experience, The Westin Dhaka successfully kicked off The Turkish Food Festival – Turkish Flavours this past month.
