The iconic sci-fi film The Terminator is all set for an overhaul. Being resurrected by Paramount and Skydance, Tim Filler will be producing, and James Cameron will be returning to the director’s chair
The main role in the new Terminator will be occupied by Cameron’s new discovery – Colombian actress Natalia Reyes. She will play Dani, a young woman from a working class neighborhood in Mexico City who finds herself in the battle between humans and machines. Diego Bonita will be alongside Natalia Reyes as her brother.
Gabriel Luna has been tapped for the role of the new terminator. Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger will be reprising their roles, albeit briefly. Blade Runner 2049 actress Mackenzie Davis is one of the new star additions to the sci-fi action project – who is to play a soldier-assassin from the future.
The cast is expected to begin training later in April with an eye toward a May production start.
The film opens Nov. 22, 2019. Paramount will release the film domestically while Fox will release it internationally.
