Cooking platforms have taken the country by storm; one such name that’s garnered immense popularity among the masses is HomeChef. It has given home-cooks, especially women a platform to cook their delicious meals not only for their families, but also for the community as well. The main idea behind HomeChef is to empower homemakers an opportunity to earn some extra income.

One such example is HomeChef Tanha Zahur, who has played a decisive role in Bangladesh to make women empowerment and financial security in households more stable. Within a year, Tanha has successfully completed 76 meal orders, enabling her to earn more than one lakh taka, when working with HomeChef. She is a living example to all women out there that it is possible to simultaneously look after your family, and financially contribute to the household whilst working from home, at your own time. Along with women, the men too are taking charge of the kitchen and becoming a part of HomeChef.

According to future predictions and statistics, HomeChef will be able to employ at least another 5000 home-cooks by 2018 and empower over 1 million women by the year 2020. At the moment, there are about 700+ chefs from Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna and Sylhet who are a part of this online platform, with 900+ menus available for home order and 1650+ recipes shared and all deliveries are handled by HomeChef operators.

Additionally, they have also partnered up with Pathao to make the deliveries; and is interested to collaborate with more home cooks and delivering agencies in the near future.
