Is drug abuse the sole reason behind the Glee casts’ demise?

After the fall of Cory Monteith, who passed away after an overdose of drugs, Mark Salling, too, committed suicide on January 30 at the age of 35. Although they died differently, both the Glee stars admitted to abusing drugs at an early age.

Cory and Mark in their element

Cory Monteith, who everybody knew as the popular jock Finn Hudson, died of drug overdose in 2013. He was only 31 when he died in a Vancouver hotel room due to lowered tolerance to drugs. After his passing, The Glee casts honoured him with an episode called “The Quarterback.”

However, Mark Salling, who played reformed delinquent Puck, has had a complicated life and death. In October, he pleaded guilty to possessing over 50,000 images of child porn and was scheduled to four to seven years behind bars this year. It is possible that he came under the pressure of having to serve in prison and thought best to end his life.

Mark’s body was found hanging from a tree in a riverbed near his home in Sunland, California. Who would’ve thought that any of these happy faces would hide such tragic tales of life?

RIP Mark Salling.
