The Fashion Design Council of Bangladesh (FDCB) recently organized the “FDCB Presents TRESemmé Khadi ‘The Future Fabric Show 2017″. The show was held in Dhaka on November 3 and 4 at the International Convention City Bashundara (ICCB).
Through this festival, Khadi, the fabric that embodies Bengali cultural heritage in a mythical fashion, has been branded as a symbol of chivalry and revolution. And needless to say, TRESemmé, the title sponsor of the event, is one of the biggest global brands circling the globe with the most prestigious fashion shows. The soulful reunion of TRESemmé and Khadi was a delightful event to attend. This year, 19 Bangladeshi fashion designers and 7 international designers participated in the show.
The Bangladeshi designers in the show were renowned designer and President of FDCB, Maheen Khan, Emdad Haque, Kuhu, Chandana Dewan, Shaibal Saha, Biplob Saha, Lipi Khandoker, Maria Islam, Farah Anjum Bari, Shahrukh Amin, Nawshin Khayer, Tenzing Chakma, Afsana Ferdousi, Raka, Faiza Ahmed, Rima, Sarah Karim, Farah Diba and Rupu Shams. The international designers in the show were Rasna Srestha (Nepal), Himanshu Shani (India), Jacqueline Fong (Malaysia), Chimmi Choden (Bhutan), Sukeejit Dangchai (Thailand), Nelun Harasgavama (Sri Lanka) and Soumitro Mondal (India). The event theme was inspired by a unique combination of Bengali art, architecture, and heritage. Beautiful models walked down the ramp, led by the TRESemmé Bangladesh Brand Ambassador – Jannatul Peya, wearing the unique Khadi creations of the participating designers.
The products of the TRESemmé Khadi ‘The Future Fabric Show 2017’ will be exhibited on November 10 and 11 at Gardenia Convention Center, Gulshan. In this way, the Khadi Exhibition will extend the festivity by and it will be open for all.
