Le Méridien Dhaka celebrates International Coffee Day for the third time at their signature lobby lounge bar, Latitude 23, on 30 September 2017. As an art and cultural inspired brand, the hotel celebrated the day with group discussion followed by various art lesson activities like latte art tutorials guided by expert baristas, designing own éclairs with special toppings under the supervision of the pastry Chef. Other guests participated in coffee painting on canvas and bean in the basket games which showcased as a memento of the day at the lounge.
International Coffee Day is a global celebration of the journey of coffee from the farm to your local restaurant. It is an occasion to honour the farmers who grow and harvest the coffee in various parts of the world. Many countries around the world celebrate their own national coffee days at various dates throughout the year. However, in March 2014, the Member States of the ICO agreed to organise International Coffee Day on 01 October to create a single day of celebration for coffee lovers around the world.
Coffee culture at Le Méridien offers a platform for a unique and distinctive experience for the guests, and it is an integral part of the brand’s lobby concept, Le Méridien Hub. The hotel believes that a coffeehouse atmosphere in the public space engages creative minds and generates an environment founded on conversation, exchange and debate, which precisely what Latitude 23 aims to provide. To mark this day, Le Méridien Dhaka began the festivity on Saturday, 30 September, 2017 at 11:00 am, as tribute to the original celebratory date. Additionally, guests may enjoy 15% discount on coffee during the day with various bank and telecommunication partners.
