Whether it’s ‘loving you to the moon and back’ or bursting out into a song, Bollywood has more than few over the top relationship expectations, that will at some point make you question ‘ Are you for real?’ Point is, Bollywood has its way of crafting #relationshipgoals that are so far from reality, it’s not even funny! Here are a top five that has us laughing till our bellies hurt.
Impeccable Looks
Dancing (Piggy Chops in Dostana), jogging (Preity Zinta in Kal Ho Naa Ho), or doing housework (Aish in Kuch Na Kaho), a heroine always manages to look pretty, defying weather, pollution and all things not too pretty. Whereas the harsh reality includes matted hair and generous halos of underarm sweat patches.
Superwomen
A Bollywood diva rents out a space for Shreya Ghoshal in her throat, and dances like she could give Master Remo a run for his money, creating ripples in the corporate world while making the roundest chapattis. Alia Bhatt in Badri Ki Dulhania. Just thinking about all that work is giving me not-so-virtual pains!

Money
Let’s face it; independent and young working people are always on a budget. Not the ones in tinsel town though. Here, they sport designer clothes, live in spacious apartments, go on luxury vacations and are seen at top notch eateries while either being jobless or at mid-level jobs. Where lies thy secret bank? Looking at you, cast of Pyar Ka Punchnama 2.
Alpha Males
He is good looking, he’s understanding and he is persistent. He is…not real! Yes, not every man will cross oceans for you, and the ones who do, will almost always be considered creeps. While we may ooh and aah over SRK in Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, Raj in real life has probably forgotten his holiday romance and is placing ‘patri chai’ newspaper ads as we speak.
The concept of time
While we have forgotten all about family time, alone time and time in general, and devoted our youth to some corporate house, Bollywood could be used as a ‘not so ideal’ example of work-life balance. Look at Preity in Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. She kicks ass at work, gets promotions, manages to dress up and party hard at night, wakes up free of dark circles and a hangover, makes time for breakfast (this is unearthly, I tell you).
