Asking a question like ‘Can women embark on journeys on their own,’ is like treading on thin ice. For many women, travelling is second nature; for some it’s a yes-no situation as the idea of solo trips, or adventures for women is relatively new in our country. However, with a tour company like TripZip, travelling has been made as women-friendly as possible. In fact, they are set in motion for their event Women Traveler’s Campaign 2017, in collaboration with Bangladesh Tourism Board (BTB). The campaign kicked off on March 4, enabling women to partake in several activities such as focus group discussions, ‘Meet the Professionals’ workshop, Awareness on Security and also learn about ‘Women Traveller’s Network.’
Alongside that, the campaign consists of components like Facebook based selfie contest to attract the young women.
TripZip is also running a survey to find out the trends among women travellers. You can participate in the survey with this google form. Through this, TripZip aims to bring the multifaceted Bangladesh closer to both travelling and non-travelling women, with hopes of igniting wanderlust within them. Moreover, this event dispels the notion that travelling alone isn’t a safe activity for women.
