With cameras capturing every second of the big day, your smile must dazzle. However, with the expensive costs and risks associated with teeth whitening, it’s best to go for home solutions in order to get those pearly whites shine. Here are the top teeth whitening DIYs.
Strawberry Paste
Strawberries contain malic acid, which is great for dissolving coffee and tea stains on teeth. Mash 1-2 strawberries, mix the puree with baking soda. Rub the mixture on the teeth and let it sit for 5 minutes. Rinse out the mix and floss afterwards to remove any strawberry seeds. This remedy can be used twice a week.
Coconut Oil
Oil pulling is an ancient ayurvedic method of oral detoxification, simply done by swishing oil (usually coconut or olive oil) in your mouth. Take a tablespoon of organic coconut oil and swish it around in your mouth for 10-20 minutes. However, if that sounds too unpleasant, simply make a paste out of coconut oil and baking soda and use that as an alternative to toothpaste.
Baking Soda and Lemon Juice
Make a paste by mixing the desired amount of baking soda with a few drops of lemon juice. Carefully apply to your teeth, avoiding the gums. Let the mixture sit for 1-2 minutes, and then brush away softly, rinsing out with water. Use this once a week.
Banana Rub
After brushing, take a small section of a ripe banana peel and rub it all over the teeth. Rinse after 2 minutes. Repeat this every day for strong, bright teeth.
Apple Cider Vinegar Rinse
Apple cider vinegar helps toothpaste crank up its stain-busting powers. Dilute the apple cider vinegar with a ratio of 3 parts of water and 1 part vinegar. Use after brushing (preferably with natural toothpaste), rinse using the diluted solution. To be used after every brushing.
Charcoal Paste
Safe to use charcoal can be store bought in little capsules. Mix the desired amount of charcoal with water to create a paste. Gently apply to all surfaces of the teeth. Leave on for two minutes and rinse out until completely gone. To be used once a week.
