Dhaka Regency unveiled Royal Membership Program

Berger Young Painters’ Art Competition Award Giving Ceremony
The 19th Berger Young Painters’ Art Competition award giving ceremony and exhibition inauguration were held on December 13, 2014 at Gallery Chitrak, Dhanmondi. At the beginning of the ceremony, a minute of silence was observed to pay respect to the departed soul of renowned artist Qayyum Chowdhury. Out of the four hundred and eighteen competing paintings, the winners stand as thus: 1st winner – Farhana Yesmin, 2nd winner – Palash Baran Biswas, 3rd winner – Rumana Rahman, 4th winner – Moazzem Hossain, 5th winner Iskander Mirza and 6th winner Bitap Shavan Bachhar.
Rupali Chowdhury, Managing Director of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited graced the event and presented crests to the winners. Certificates and prize money was handed over by prominent artist, Syed Jahangir.
The most esteemed award – Berger Life Time Achievement Award was also rewarded at the same event to eminent artist Hashem Khan. The lifetime achievement crest and cheque was given to him by Rupali Chowdhury and Syed Jahangir respectively. After the award giving ceremony, the five day long exhibition was inaugurated by Rupali Chowdhury. Top paintings of BYPAC including the winning paintings of 2013 and 2014 are being displayed at the exhibition. The exhibition will be open for all from December 14th to 18th at gallery Chitrak from 10am to 8pm.
Quantum consumer solutions limited celebrates their 10th Anniversary
Quantum Consumer Solutions celebrated their 10th Anniversary at Grand Ball Room of The Westin Dhaka Hotel on 20 November. Quantum, a leading qualitative research agency in the Asia Pacific Region, set up office in Dhaka in a joint venture with the Apex group in 2004.
The Chairperson of Quantum Group, Dr. Meena Kaushik was present as the chief guest and delivered a welcome speech. KFC launches Burger Fest
KFC, a globally renowned chain of restaurant from the house of Transcom Foods Ltd., in their continuous effort to bring the best food to their consumers, launched Burger Fest, where three new burgers, Grill’d Burger for BDT 290, Veggie Burger for BDT 250 and Fusion Burger BDT 280 were introduced.

City Bank Participates in Research with World Bank
City Bank and Innovations for Poverty Actions (IPA) in partnership with the Development Economics research group of the World Bank has recently launched the research project “The Real Effect of Electronic Wage Payments: A Field Experiment with Salaried Factory Workers in Bangladesh”. The inaugural program was held at The Westin on December 14, 2014. This research project is focusing on the behavioral change that access to financial institutions and systems like banks, ATM services will bring on the ready-made garments industry workers.
Sohail R.K. Hussain, MD & CEO, City Bank formally inaugurated the program. He explained why City Bank felt it is important to partner with World Bank in this research around alternate payment methods for garment factory workers.
As part of this project, City Bank has opened up accounts for RMG workers in cooperation with garment factory management and installed ATMs at the factory site with no charges to any of the services provided to the workers.
