Zara Mahbub, Senior Vice President and the Head of Communications and Service Quality at BRAC Bank, seamlessly juggles between her personal and professional life. Nothing is ever so simple, but as a daughter, wife, mother of three and corporate woman, she makes things seem effortless.
She grew up as a rebel, and none of the gender roles or societal norms constrained her from pursuing her dreams. Her parents, phupa, khala and nani were the wind beneath her wings. Zara first started working in her father’s buying house and later shifted to technology by enrolling in website development and designing websites. After completing her MBA from the University of California at Berkeley’s Haas School of Business, she returned to Dhaka and joined BRAC Bank and was promoted as the Head of Communication and Service Quality in 2015.
Breaking the stereotypical characteristics of a banker, Zara Mahbub exudes a lively and welcoming aura. Her passion, ambition and tenacious determination, without compromising her integrity or confidence, make her one of the most influential individuals in her field.
